On April 19th, 1775 almost 4,000 men from communities across Massachusetts left behind their families to respond to the alarm and participate in the fight against the British Regulars. The Minute Man Soldier Search database includes the names of militiamen, companies, and towns that participated in the opening battles of the Revolution on April 19, 1775. This interactive database is a great place to start your Revolutionary War, Patriots of Color, and genealogical research.
Minute Man Soldier Search database is based on the book The Battle of April 19, 1775, in Lexington, Concord, Lincoln, Arlington, Cambridge, Somerville, and Charlestown, Massachusetts by Frank Warren Coburn, published in 1912. Due to the limitations of Coburn’s book, we invite you to suggest additions, deletions, and corrections to the Minute Man Soldier Search.
