Your Voice Was Heard!

On October 7, 2026, the Lexington Planning Board voted unanimously to approve a proposed multi-family development at 114 Wood Street, a private parcel of land within the administrative boundary of Minute Man National Historical Park.

The project includes 15 new townhome units in six buildings, along with substantial tree removal, new buildings and driveways, grading, utilities, and other site disturbance. The property currently contains a single home, significant tree cover, and wetlands.

While we are disappointed that the project was approved to build on land related to the Battle of Lexington and Concord, the hundreds of letters submitted by Minute Man supporters made a difference.

The approval includes conditions intended to provide meaningful protection for the Park’s cultural and natural resources. These include an archaeological survey, protections for endangered species, and a conservation restriction covering areas outside the development, encompassing the Park’s historic stone walls and much of the vernal pool buffer zones.

Thank you for speaking up for Minute Man. Your advocacy helped ensure that the concerns of the Park’s supporters were heard and that important protections were included in the approval.

We will continue to work with our partners at Minute Man National Historical Park, American Battlefield Trust, National Parks Conservation Association, National Park Trust, and National Trust for Historic Preservation to ensure this piece of history is protected.
