Celebrating the Spirit of Service at Minute Man

The dedicated volunteers of Minute Man National Historical Park help make the park a welcoming place for all visitors. Whether it’s reenactors donning historical clothing, natural resources caretakers tending the landscapes, or visitor guides sharing their passion for the American Revolution, volunteers work tirelessly alongside park staff to ensure the seamless operation of Minute Man National Historical Park. Minute Man recently held a series of volunteer appreciation events to thank volunteers for their tremendous contributions and to celebrate their accomplishments. The Friends of Minute Man are proud to support volunteer events and be part of the Minute Man National Historical Park community.

Reenactors: Bringing History to Life

Our volunteer reenactors are the living embodiment of history. With meticulous attention to detail, they transport visitors back in time, allowing them to experience the sights, sounds, and emotions of key moments in our nation’s past. From revolutionary and British soldiers to colonial civilians, these passionate individuals provide an authentic impression at park events such as Battle Road and other Patriots’ Day events and Preparing for Winter – Preparing for War.

Natural Resource Caretakers: Guardians of the Landscape

Minute Man National Historical Park comprises over 1000 acres of commemorative landscape with layers of history. Natural resource volunteers dedicate their time to preserving and protecting landscapes, caring for the Buttrick Gardens, tackling invasive weeds, and maintaining trails. Their commitment to environmental stewardship is a gift to both present and future generations. Some volunteers participate in our Park Day events, while others choose to come weekly all year long in any weather. Read more about these intrepid landscape volunteers in our Volunteers for All Seasons article.

Visitor Guides: Ambassadors of Knowledge and Hospitality

Welcoming smiles and a wealth of knowledge define our visitor guides. They answer questions about the American Revolution, the Concord authors, and everyday life in Colonial America, all while creating an inclusive and engaging atmosphere for all who visit. Visitor guides come from diverse backgrounds and love to share their passion for history with others.
